The Salsa Fiesta this year was the most successful yet, thanks in part to the generous sponsors of the event.  We sent out a letter request for people to sponsor the event, and before the day started we had $3,720 in sponsorship donations.  With auction sales, door receipts and those sponsors we brought in about $12,500 total.  There are a few small bills to pay, mostly postage and paper, so we will clear over $12,000.  I can’t thank all of you enough.  Every auction item was donated.  Joel Egan, owner of the Mid Town Pub donated the site.  The designs of the flyer, booklet of auction items and all mailing pieces were donated by several people, including Katie Brown of Gryphon Studio and Michelle Storm, and the printing was either donated by Kirk Lynch of Ricoh Copiers or done on my home computer printer.  All this to say that we make every effort to keep costs to the bare minimum so that every dollar donated goes for what it was intended – to help teach English on Isla Mujeres and give the locals a chance to earn a better living.  So thanks so much to all of you!  La Gloria English School is alive and well thanks to your generous ongoing support!
